How guests opt in to texts

Effective October 8, 2026

InPops sends appointment texts for the nail salons that use it. Every text is written and sent by InPops (Scott J Tilney, doing business as InPops (trade name on file with the IRS: Lexicon)) from one InPops number; salons do not write or send texts. A guest chooses texts on the salon's booking page, and a booking never depends on that choice.

Where the opt-in happens

On a salon's booking page (the example below is 7 Sisters Nail Spa in San Mateo, California) the guest taps an open time and the booking sheet opens. It asks for:

  • A name and a mobile number. The number is how the salon finds the booking, so it is required.
  • An unticked box, "Text me about this appointment", with the full disclosure beside it. It is optional: a guest can book without ticking it, and then InPops sends nothing.
  • Book. The next screen holds the appointment and its link; a guest who left the box unticked is told "We won't text you" and keeps the page instead.

What InPops sends

Only to guests who ticked the box, only about their own visit, never marketing:

  • A receipt the moment the booking is made, with the link to manage or cancel it.
  • One reminder asking the guest to reply YES to confirm, for appointments booked a day or more ahead.
  • A note if the salon moves or cancels the appointment, or closes that day.

Usually one or two texts per visit. Message and data rates may apply. Every text starts with "InPops:" and names the salon because that is where the appointment is; the salon does not write or send it.

Stopping and help

Reply STOP to any text to stop them all; InPops confirms once and sends no more. Reply START to resume. Reply HELP, or email hello@inpops.com, for help. Stopping texts never cancels an appointment: the link in the first text still works.
